I've just installed a new: head, timing chain, timing tensioner, intake, exhaust, head gaskets. I've read on saturnfans that I cannot simply start my engine now that I've got it all together.. What do I do? I don't want to mess it up. 2000 saturn SL1 SOHC

 

I just went for it. It started in less than a second, the moment I turned the key, just like before!!!

 

I'm guessing you're supposed to add a tiny bit of oil to the cyls and inside the oil fill cap (valve train0 to make up for the fact that these parts more likely than not dry w r t lubrication, and you never want metal to metal contact while the oil pump is taking a finite time to get oil to everything
