I have been fighting this fast idle problem for quite a while. At first I took out the IAC and cleaned it and the port. I reset the unit and it had the same fast idle after it was installed. I purchased a new one and installed it. It worked better although the RPM,s would fall somewhat slow. Now it back at it again, this time it seems worse. Any help would be appreciated.

Like many others, it sounds like you having leaking intake manifold where it bolts to the head.
