I've becomeused to the orange glow of my check engine light but out of curiosity I ran the codes on the car and one was the O2 sensor and the other was the "quad driver." Anyone have a clue what the quad driver might be? |
What year and model? Edit: I searched your posts and found you have a 1992 SL Quad Driver is built into the PCM of the vehicle. To correct the concern the PSM would need to be replaced.Edited by: STLWACO |

IM me and I can share the sometimes gory details of troubleshooting it, or search for quad driver in this forum and you should find a post or two by me concerning troubleshooting this code. Based on age of car, I'll blindly guess your EGR needs cleaning. Derf |
Thanx for the help! I looked at some of your old posts and it looks like other people fixed the problem just by cleaning the EGR, so i'll give it a try

Folks,
I should have been more specific in my response -- indeed, the quad driver is an integrated part of the PCM. Simply pointing out that getting a quad driver related code on a Saturn S car almost hardly pretty much never ends up upon proper diagnosis</span> to be the quad driver itself that is the problem. In theory--sure--could happen -- and indeed you'd need to replace the PCM. In practice -- yet to see it. Sorry if I came off a bit harsh -- I had a shi*t day at work. Ultimately -- I hope you problem will be solved with our assistance. Derf |
off topic, but curious... what program is pictured in the screenshot? Is it just used for referencing automotive jargon? |
