any way to get plastic cover off without breaking it .... im about to do the LED conversion on it and just want everything that isnt broken to stay that way

Good question. I am wondering too. I recently broke mine trying to switch to an LED bulb. Once we have an answer I will be heading to the junk yard for a replacement...

i only got one clip broken on it but that was from previous owners

Ok I just could not resist trying to remove mine ( even though it was working fine)
And now that it is off, it is easy to see how it is SUPPOSED to come off.
So where is it that you can get new ones?
Sometimes I just have to learn the HARD way !
