After lurking for a few years I'm finally making my first post,
My DOCH 99' SW2 has been having low coolant temp problems. The needle would be stuck a little below 1/4. To address this, I replaced the coolant, the thermostat, and the ECTS with a new brass one. Now the coolant temp goes up a little past 1/3 but not quite 1/2. Clearly replacing the temp sensor and thermostat did help the problem but I'm pretty sure I should be getting up to 1/2.
Do I need to replace the connector? The reading increased after the sensor replacement so the connector is atleast doing part of its job. Temp gauge
That is exactly how the temperature gauge on my '95 SC2 has read for the last 29 years except in traffic where it gets to the edge of the red and then the under hood fan kicks on and brings it back to exactly the spot you have photographed.

All is well, and good job sorting it out.
thanks for confirming, crazy you've been here for like 20 years. When I had problems with my car last year you saved me with a thread from like 2009 real OG
