I have a 92 SL2 with 153,000 miles and the service light is on. I took the car to Autozone and the tech ran the scanner and stated there was a 23 code. He advised this was a cool air intake sensor. Should I replace the sensor and if so where is it located. Thanks

A code 23 - inlet air temperature (IAT) low, is indeed the air temp sensor that's located in the plastic air duct before the aluminum throttle body. It should have a two-wire connector going to it and perhaps its just loose. Since it just sits in the air flow it rarely faults out unlike the coolant sensor that resides in the engine coolant subjected to the hot/cold cycling that inevitably cracks the resin tipped sensor creating strange running problems. The usual answer for this is to replace the coolant sensor with the replacement brass one along with thetwo-wire connector if its corroded also. The coolant sensor is the lower one on the engine block while the upper single wire sensor is the temp sensor going to the dash gauge.
