a/c question
Hello,
I recently replaced the evaporator under the dash of my 98 sc2.
Wow, what a time consuming repair! But patience prevailed.
Next is a rebuilt compressor, and metering valve on the fire wall, hoping to have these installed later this week.
Now the question part: Where is the receiver drier located ?
Maybe im staring at it , but dont see it.
Also how much oill is added to the system, and is this added by the shop who will also charge the system?
Finally, can this be charged by me instead of taking it to a shop, a- la -walmart r-134 kit? And if so what is the total quantity to be added?
Thank in advance to anyone who has taken this on and is willing to share.

I'll answer a couple of those points --
1) Oil for the system is added by the shop who charges the system.
2) No, you cannot charge the system, unless you have a very efficient vacuum pump to remove all the air from the system before you add your oil and r-134
