Default Ignition cylinder help

Replacing the ignition cylinder. Removed old one withouttip much trouble. Went to install new one and the keyed pin off the ignition switch that mates into the rear of the cylinder seems to be rotated 180 degrees and won't allow the cylinder to install completely. What am i missing here?

I personally don't know, but think you should do a search on youtube. Guy named richpin has a LOT of Saturn videos. You need to also tell us what model Saturn you're working on.

Sorry. Missed this one.
I'll do some research.

Where did you get the replacement part?
What brand and part number?

Part came from oreilleys. Examining the rear of old and new part, they appear identical.

Could you please post a picture of the issue when you go to insert the replacement part?

Can you put the original back in (meaning does it line up differently)?

Maybe you didn't get it turned far enough when you removed the old one due to the wear on it? I don't know, but derfs idea of checking the old one to see if it'll go back in is a good one.

Clearly you are frustrated with us, but since we have not personally encountered said problem previously, it'd be a lot easier if you could post a pic of the situation. We can't see or touch your car.
