I''m just curious.. When you are first using the car, and you accelerate for the first time in drive, do you hear a little clinking noise that appears to be coming from the passenger side of the engine? I mean the car still runs fine but I''m wondering if it''s something I should be concerned about..

Could be all sorts of things but the first place I''d look would be the idler pulley. If that bearing fails, it makes a really strange noise at least mine did ...

Seems logical. I''ll have to check that out. Never noticed the clinging until now lol. Thanks a lot.

I would also check the engine and transmission mounts for play if its a noise that only happens on acceleration

How many miles are on the car? Could be the timing chain as well.

And it really doesnt matter if it a 1995 SL2 or not. 1991-2002 DOHC sedans, wagons and coupes all had the same basic engine.

The car has 49,367 miles on it.
