Default 99 sl2 ram air intake experiment

last week after finding a whole in the stock intakes i went to orielly and made my own using the spectre peeformance stuff was real easy and looks nice ...

but the experiment is with the stock on well with a hole in it i got 28.4 miles to the gallon and im goin to do a week of ***** out driving and a week of normal to see how much of a differenc there is

and today was the end of the ***** out driving filled it up and it was leas big suprise lol 26.6mpg so lost 2mpg but thats foot in it most the time... srry about the multiple replys im usin my phone..

did a quick check today... not going to be compleatly acurate but did it at a qtr tank and got 32 to the gallon so a 4mpg incease but i will post when i get the real numbers

well filled it up today 266 on the tipometer 7.8 gallons later turns to be 34.1 miles to the gallon 5.5 mile per gallon increase

Damn thats pretty good, all the years I've been on SATURN forums and all the SATURNs I've owned I have never heard of such improvements in mpg from adding a short or cold air intake to a S-CAR. It must have something to do with living in Inver Grove Heights, I bet if you lived in Little Canada or Highland Park you'd not even see an increase.

well i do think that a big part of it is that there was a hole in the original intake tube so im sure that had somthing to do with it.... live in mn at sumpoint?
