Default 97 sl2 no crank

I have a '97 SL2 DOHC that does not crank. I have had the battery tested, terminals cleaned, removed and tested starter no change. Checked the purple wire to solenoid no voltage when key turned to start.
Where do I go from here?

If it has an automatic transmission there is a neutral start switch that determines the transmission is in neutral or park letting the car start. If it does not work, the car does not try to start.

Also - if memory serves - there is a clutch safety switch on manual transmission cars, with the result that the clutch must be depressed and held before the car will start ....

Problem solved. Reseated RKE relay and got 12V to the starter, but still no start. Pulled starter for second time and checked it myself. 40 amp would not turn the starter through solenoid but would clamped on motor lead. Back to parts store get starter replaced (3 yr old rebuild). Car starts great
Thanks for your suggestion!!
