Default 95 sc2

Hi all I have a 95 SC2 with 393,000 miles on it. It is on it's second motor which came out of my fathers wrecked 98 SL2. To put it in we had to use the intake off the 95 motor. There was also a difference in the head. The 95 had a temp sensor that screwed into the head and the 98 did not. What we did to fix this may sound odd but it worked for over 173,000 miles we took and used black electrical tape to attach it to the radiator hose and then used pipe insulating tape over that. We also used the 98 automatic transmission also. It still has the 95 computer in it. The car always got 29mpg in town and 34mpg on the highway. That was up until this year the mileage dropped to 20 and 24. And now the car after about 30 miles will stall and will not start unless you hold the gas pedal to the floor. I replaced the fuel pump and filter thinking the pump after all those miles was just wore out. That did not help at all. Any one have any ideas? Thanks in advance for any advice

Believe it or not, but it sounds like your temp sensor has gone bad...
