I have a 93 sl1(1.9sohc) with 156k on it that seems to burn oil alot. I dont see it burning the oil, No smoke. Ive done the usual tune up, plugs, wire, all filters changed, I found a leak on the valve cover gasket so I changed it as well. I didnt see any leaks on the head. Any other ideas? Im at a loss for what i could be.

2nd problem:
Occasionally, I get the smell of gas come through the cabin. I dont see any leaks, even put it on a lift to check no leaks. Fuel filter has been changed. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Most Saturns burn oil. Especially the older the engine gets and especially the SOHC engines. You most likely have stuck oil control rings and worn valve guides.

Just check the oil level at each fuel fill up and you should be ok.
