I just replaced the fuel pump on my 93 Sl1 and when I started it, it raced at about 2500rpm for about 10 seconds and then went down to around 800rpm. When I shifted it into reverse it did the same and also with drive. If I shift it out of gear into park or neutral it races to about 2500+ and after about 20 seconds slowly returns to normal. I just noticed also that all of the sudden my engine temp gauge isn't working. I would think this is the notorious Coolant sensor??
