Also, did code 81 come out after I pause for the other codes? When I look it up online, it comes up as a 2-3 shift solenoid issue. So I'm assuming you have an auto not a manual. But the transmission codes I believe flash at the end and not necessarily in numerical order with the rest. I'm not sure why there is discrepancy between what is in the field service manual and what i is on the net for code 81. I know they refer to some of the values as flags as opposed to codes. I've never understood the difference. Maybe flags do not light the SES. Anyone have input on that?

I do believe that is the vacuum controlled "solenoid" for the EGR valve. They didn't switch to an electrical solenoid until 95. That one is post-modulated (95) but the 93 is I assume proportional to the vacuum.

I have had problems where the EGR on my 97 would stick open every so often or shall I say partially open. When I was decelerating approaching say a toll booth, the RPMs would start to come down with the car in neutral, then would start bouncing like crazy. The gas pedal became non-responsive. And it would stall just as I rolled into the toll booth. I learned I had to wait 3 minutes or so, and the vehicle would start back up and drive fine for 500 miles. The people at the toll booth tended to be unhappy, but 3 minutes for the EGR to get back in place was the temporary fix. You said the gas pedal is still responsive, so I didn't mention this earlier. I'm trying not to interweave the discussion of troubleshooting three different things at the same time because that just usually doesn't work out well.
