200o Sedan won't start!
Hi Everyone,
First time posting on this forum - I'm glad I found it. I have a 2000 SL2 Sedan and it runs great. However, I parked it at work yesterday, did my 8 hours and went to start the car to go home. It wouldn't start, I've tried is several times and it's still sitting in the parking lot. Battery has juice since all of the lights and panel indicators come on. When I turn the key to start, I hear a very faint clicking noise, assuming it is the solenoid. However, one thing I have noticed is that the "security" light is now lighting up when I go to turn on the car. I had a new key made about a month ago. I figure that it could be one of two issues:
a) the starter motor is on its way out, give it a tap to re-engage it to get it started (replace ASAP)
b) the new key has somehow tripped a security sensor and will not let it start (like a killswitch of some sort)
Note: battery and cables seem to be OK
Please advise. Thanks. Dave
