Greetings,

Have a 2001 SL2, and last night, got Service Engine Soon light on the dash, for no apparent reason.

Took it by AutoZone this morning, and the error code is P0708, Trans Range Sensor High. He reset the code, and it didn't come back, but it was only about a 2 minute ride back to work.

Did a Google search, and only found one hit on this error in a Saturn SL2, and there was some info about the electronic shifting of the auto transmission, but no real conclusion.

As I have about a 170-mile drive tomorrow, I know my wife will be overly concerned.

Anyone else have experience in this area? Doesn't seem like I should be THAT concerned, but should pay attention to it.

Any advice?

Thanks for any info.

code p0708 is a code for the trans fluid temp sensor high check that coolant temp sensor is working correctly cause the coolant temp sensor and that tft sensor work in correlation. it will set a coolant temp sensor code always a tft code
