Default 2001 SL 5-speed NO START SOMETIMES

Usually the car will turn over---always if it's cold or after it sits for an hour or more. Lately though, after it's been driven, turning the key all the way to 'start' gets no reaction but also no failure of anything else electrical.
Can anyone help?

When your starter goes bad it will show similar symptoms. The brushes are probably worn. Next time it acts up bang on the starter from the top (use a pipe or rod), If it turns over, our diagnosis will be confirmed.
