I am curious i'm kinda new to the auto world but I love my 2001 saturn
sl1 now I have searched looking around for performance parts such as
intakes and exhaust but nothing really is coming up, I'm wondering is
it worth to reaplace that motor with a dohc motor with around the same
mileage and my sohc has about 23,500 miles on it, any help on this
topic would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks Sl1fan

Yep, thats us.

Best ban of the buck in a SOHC equipped Saturn is doing a DOHC swap. No matter how much you do to a SOHC engine, it still wont have the power or performance of a stock DOHC engine.

And if you have a pick-n-pull in your area, you can get everything needed to do a DOHC swap for the price of a good SOHC intake and header.

yeah i know this topic is old but if it means anything i know a guy with a souped up sl1 sohc and hes dropped four g''s in his car in performance and looks(mostly looks) and mines just had the head shaved and a top end rebuild, and i stomp him every time, especially around corners(for some reason sl2''s take corners, must be that stock sway bar). bottom line.......Do the SWAP.
