Default 2000 SL2 Power Problem

I changed my starter, drove about 20 minutes, got out and tried to lock the doors via remote, no power. I tried to start the car and I had no power coming through, car acted like there was no battery in it. I took the battery off, left it for a few days, then put the battery back on. Started perfect. Then I drove it and was seeing the gauge cluster flicker, getting dim and bright when I would drop into neutral. Headlight flicker and everything.

Today I was gonna get the alternator tested but I still have no power. What is wrong with it? It did not do this before the new starter.

Another new problem is this, if I get the rpm's sitting at any number, the rpms will just rise, no movement of my foot.

Any help would be good. I'm this close to taking it to the dealer or setting it ablaze.

Replace both main battery cables, and ensure they have clean/tight connections both at the battery, and on the other end as well .....

Also, check to make sure that you reattached the wire that goes from the starter to the alternator.

bad battery terminals can also corrode right inside where the terminals come through, causing intermittent "access" to the charge in the battery. I've actually had one fall off while trying to tighten the pos terminal wire
