1998 sl2 automatic transmission
I'm wondering if anybody else has had problems with their automatic transmissions. Is it common that they need to be replaced, or am I just unlucky?

Locally, the guys have experienced problems with the solenoids that control shifting. Some have reported improvement by running Seafoam treatment and changing the filter. Haven't heard of any complete tranny replacement though.< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-47";

Problems with Saturn automatic is common. Tranny replacement is rarely necessary. Usually just a valvebody replacement is needed. You can avoid causing problems with the auto tranny with more frequent fluid/filter changes and an external fluid cooler.
