I was wondering if you can clean your throttle body and how would you do that? I think my dirty throttle body is the problem of major hesitation basically it won't go and the idle is very erratic, I have done the throttle position sensor, air filter, fuel filter, oxygen sensor, and map sensor and temp. sensor. If anyone has any other suggestions that would be great. I also had the battery and the alternater tested and they tested good.
Thanks

Remove the throttle body from the intake manifold and clean the back side and passages with carb cleaner.

You can do this by removing the tube from the air cleaner to the throttle
body and have someone hold the gas pedal to the floor. Then you can clean
the backside of the throttle plate and the body with carb cleaner and paper
towels.

About every third time, you do have to remove the throttle body and "do it
right." I would also recommend that you remove and clean the EGR valve
too at this time.

BTW, did you do all the stuff you listed for a problem that you are having at
this time or were those for other reasons and why do you think you need to
clean the throttle body? Is the gas pedal sticking when you first step on it?Edited by: keith

Thats works if its pretty clean to begin with and you do it regularly. But after several years, nothing short of removing the TB and spraying and scrubbing the deposits will get it clean.
