Default 02 saturn sl2 automatic

I been having a problem with the egr valve. i have cleaned it out and the valve is working, but sometime after the engine gets warm it starts to stutter going down the road at a constant speed. And it sometimes also stalls when pulling out of a parking spot in reverse. anyone know of a way to help me out?

You need to clear the passage under the EGR valve too. I'm sure it's carboned up also.

i have left the egr valve off and started the vehicle so it runs at 3 in a half thousand rpms to blow out the carbon in the passage and it helped a lil but then it started acting up again after a couple days. i also have a 95 saturn sl1 5 speed and i did that once on it and it helped it from having a rough idle. it just this 02 have been a hassle to get it to run smoothly so i could get someone to come look at it so i can get it sold.

Did you ever actually replace the EGR valve with a new one or not? If not, that may be the problem.

I'l have to see how much the parts store wants for an egr and I'l look into replacing it and I'l get back to you to say if it helped or not. Thanks for your opinion

I haven't replaced the egr valve but recently the transmission as been acting a little messed up it seems like it slipping and it may have a bit too much fluid in the transmission cause it has bubbles on the stick wen i check the fluid. Would anyone have a reason that may help my problems? I have switched and egr off of my older 95 saturn on the 02 saturn not sure if it was working better, but it still threw a code of po405 and the transmission threw a code of po733 Gear 3 incorrect ratio
