So how long do I have to wait for the engine to cool down? I just bought the part and would like to install it today if possible. but from what I hear, I'll need a good 12 hours waiting

How ever long it takes to cool down to your liking. If you think it's to hot to work on then it's to hot.

And boy, that old sensor had a nicely sized crack in it!

I didn't even realize how noisy my car was before until I heard how silent it became after replacing the ects. It idles like a ninja and sounds like a V8 when really working ;-)
