Default Can you install an after market shift ****?

I guess my question is how hard would it be to install an after market shift **** to my automatic V6 2004 Saturn L 300? I was looking at ***** made by obx and some off brand as well. I just want to know what I would be getting into before I buy one. I was surprised I didn't find any information about it through Google. All help is appreciated.

Thanks,
-Zion

Hello and Welcome to the site

Never had a L Saturn. Have never looked at how they attach etc. Hope you find out whats up, and when you do post a picture or two along what what brand you found to fit and a how to for those looking in the future.

Try to understand one thing about owning a Saturn L-Series. Most of the people that did .... did not do mods to them. Most of the people that did ... took them to the dealer for what ever was needed. Most people that did ... did not use Saturn forums or any other auto forum for that matter. Meaning info on L-Series Saturns is not very easy to come by.

Mind you ... I did not say all ... I said most.

======================
Well? Yuh!
But then again, a lot of us here and on similar forums have found the trip to the unknown rather rewarding and habit forming if not a bit bumpy on occaision.
But my neighbor just spent $1000.00 on repairing his brakes and figure he got a deal. I just spent $1300 on building a Corvette Engine and Transmission to install in a car I am building.
I think I got a better deal.
It's all about the taking fo the trip that makes it worthwhile.
I saw some damn pretty steering wheels last month.
Installing them would mean I lose the Air Bag!!!
Wow!
And it is do-able.

I just don't want to do something that makes my car unable to be driven. Anyways I figured out how to dissemble the whole thing I'll see if the **** can come off or if you have to replace the whole stick if you want an aftermarket shift ****. Get back to you guys when I have made the discovery myself.

If it's anything like the S car automatic.

Set brake
Turn key on (do not start)
Pull shifter into low
Look for slot/slit at the base of forward facing part of shifter
With small screwdriver pull clip that you can't see but feel
Pull up to remove shifter.

Just be sure not to have your face in the way if you yank up on it real hard. It could be stuck and come flying up and smash you in the face.
