Hey gang, newbie here. Gotta a problem with my 2002 L200 automatic. It feels like a slipping tranny. When I pull out in traffic and give it gas, it revs but won''t go. If I let off the gas it will go in gear. It seems to happen in every gear. Thoughts??

OK, my boyfriend took it for a test drive and he said it''s not the tranny, something''s bogging down the power causing it to rev just to keep going. MAF or oxygen sensor perhaps. He''s going to change the fuel filter, too. Changed the oil, oil filter and air filter today as routine maintenance.

Whaddya think?

if the tranny isn''t slipping i bet the cat converter is clogged. very common with the 2.2 Lseries.

Just a quick question here ... does your L200 have traction control, and is the light for the traction control lighting up?

Yes, it''s got traction control but the light isn''t coming on. We took the upstream oxygen sensor out to see if the cat was clogged, and it definitely ran better (but loud!). So we took the cat off today and are replacing it. It was tough to get off, we had to cut two of the bolts off on the rear flange.
