Default sl2 door hinge separation

Hello, new to Saturns and this forum. I have a 2000 Sl2 V6 and have owned it for about a month. Shortly after we purchased it we noticed that the drivers door had to be lifted to engage the latch. My first thought was the pins are worn but on further inspection I found that the lower body side of the door hinge has actually started to separate from the pillar. Not sure if these are welded on or if they use a bonding agent. If anyone has had this problem or knows how this could be repaired it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

S series cars all came with 4 cyl engines so you do not have a V6 unless a very ambitious previous owner dropped alot of coin and alot of time.

Notwithstanding your description -- If it IS an s-series -- are you sure the problem is not being caused by the lower portion of the inner door panel contacting the bottom of the door opening? The inner connectors for the panels sometimes pop out and the panel will sag just enough to make door closing a chore...

heres some pics. you can see the white line where the hinge is separating and when you open the door all the way the whole pillar flexes and the gap gets bigger.

That is the LS2, not the SL2, quite the size difference, and very easy to confuse... However from the way the picture looks it appears to be a broken weld.

Also known as the LS200--and not so difficult to confuse when there's a badge that says L200 on the trunk.........

All that now sorted out and thread moved to correct forum.........

Pic=1000 words

I also vote for broken weld (though I am far from an L car expert)

Sorry, car was sold to me as a sl2. I`ve never been much of a saturn fan . When my wife needed a car it fit the budget. There are no badges on the trunk but the car hauls ***! Sorry for the confusion
