Default Drivers side taillight

I am looking for some help. I have a 2002 L200 and I have an issue with the left rear taillight. Every other light works, including the blinker and reverse light. The taillight and brake light are the only lights not working. I need to know where to start looking . Any information would be helpful.
thank you

L series cars had tail light problems. They recalled them and installed a patch to the tail light. It is a different socket to hold the bulb and an adaptor harness. I will take a picture in an hour or so when I get out to the shop.

Here is a picture of the 2000-2002 left side recall upgrade kit installed. The part number is 15840428. If your car does not have the plastic overlay piece with the harness you have not had the recall done on your car or someone has replaced that taillight. Check both sides of your car if neither one has the recall kit I would check with your local GM dealer and see if it is still available.

I saw that on the passenger side but not in the driver side.
I will contact my local GM dealer and see if I can still get that part.
Thank you for the part number and your time

You bet, any time. If not at the dealer there may just the upgrade at a u-pull-it auto wrecking yard.
