I bet the answerto my question is in here some where in this forum

The problem with my 98 SL (313000km) is that; when i'm driving or just sitting at idle the temp gauge will almost hit the mid point (gets that point quickly).i have replaced alot of parts and cannot figure it out. the gauge wont even go down when i turn on my AUX switch for the rad fan.

I was wondering if it could be the connecter for the ECTS that is giving me the wrong reading??

Will i dodamage to the engine if this solved???

Replaced: ECTS, waterpump, thermostat and did a flush.

If you over heat the ENGINE there is a very good chance you will damage it. The connector if it's bad could give you a false reading
