Default Code 742 torque converter clutch stuck on problem

Hi I'm Howie's daughter. I have been having trouble with my l200. When it shifts, it bangs really loud. Also sometimes it won't even shift, it will just feel like I am in neutral. When my dad tested it, the code that came up was 742. Is it possible to replace the torque converter clutch without replacing the entire transmission? If so, about how much does that cost?
