ok got a set of guages low side is @145 and high side is @150 does this mean compressor problem? maybe just clutch because tries direct wiring and nothing system is getting electrical power
|
Holy smoke!! An "ambient" reading of the system shows 145-150? Oh my gosh!
Normal "ambient" pressure should be about 70-70 on a non-operating system. I would not even attempt to work on that system - too dangerous. Take it to a professional, have the system pumped down and recharged, and hope for the best. |

There is very very weak electrical power to the pressure sensor, is that a weak ground? ?
|
what is "weak power"?
I believe the pressure sensor switch should be normally closed (NC) if pressure is within range. If pressure goes out of range the switch pops open and breaks the current path to inhibit operation of the system. |
Derf is right -- and it's actually a "trianary switch"....
That means if the pressure is too low, the switch opens, and if the pressure is too high, the switch opens -- neat, huh? |

Thats the problem with trying to diagnose cars over the internet. Without having the car the best guess of all is just a guess. With enough people the correct guess will come along sooner or later.
I'll say thanks to you for having the common courtesy to give a heads up to those that tryed to help you on this forum. |
