Default Weak headlight drivers side

04 Ion - bumped the headlight ever so slightly and now the headlight is dim on the driver side. I found one wire that was corroded (brown) so I cut the ends off and fused it back together plus replaced the bulb and got the same results.

I saw recommendations about cleaning/changing the ground wire from the frame to the transmission but I am awful with electronics.

Thanks!

How EXACTLY did you fix that wire?

I cut the broken wire splice out, cut off the corroded pieces of wire by the splices, stripped and put in a fresh wire splice. Someone had cut all the wires off at some point apparently.

I also swapped the headlight bulb first, then swapped driver and passenger side assemblies getting the same results.
I did not mess with the ground strap from the transmission to the frame but that was going to my next step to clean that.

i looked closely at all the connectors and their pins and there was no signs of corrosion and i blasted them all with some electrical cleaner just to be sure.

Not a proper repair on the wiring.
