Saturn Ion 2007 2.2 engine - Oil left in engine after oil change

Oil filter is a cartridge type that sits in a canister on top of the engine. After putting oil in, the filter canister will not fill until the engine is run for a couple of minutes. I have a 2004 2.2L and always put 5 quarts (4.7 liters) in, run the engine for a few minutes checking for leaks, then shut the engine off and check the oil level after a couple more minutes. Level is always good, maybe a fingernail above the full mark. I also use ramps to change oil, but check the oil when it is back on level ground.
it is very strange as i can see you also have ecotec 2.2 engine.
Next week i am planning to do oil change and follow as u said.
I will try to remove oil using jack and level it...may be it remove more oil by that. lets see.

Yes car drive very normal with no issue atall. I am driving from last 2 years.
I posted just curious why it take only 3.8 liter wen it says it has capacity of 4.7 liter
