I'll kick this thread again. We have so much problem with the new 08+ Diesels that the gas rigs get ignored. By the time someone complains about one of the gas rigs they really need a tune up. Our trucks get what I call severe duty, 100 start/stops a day. This has cut down on all of he run time hours but has created more starter and battery issues. My Meterman trucks are v10 Fords, they have to run to use their test equipment. They are 2007 production trucks and have about 175k miles and 10,000 hours on the hour meters. We have replaced one engine due to dropping an intake valve. The driver was hard of hearing and by the time the garage got news it was making noise it came back on a wrecker. We caught another earlier and changed a cam and followers.
