OBD port reads everything but engine and transmission
Suddenly, my OBD scanner tool won't detect the engine and transmission but reads everything else. Used to work fine but I'm not sure what happened. Often times I bump into it getting in and out of the car and I might have finally messed up the contact parts where the scanner touches the port pins. I assume this because the scanner works as it should when I connect it in my Kia. It's a Bluetooth scanner, btw
If I end up having to replace the part that the scanner plugs into, is it a simple task? No programming or anything involved? It's a 2007 Saturn Ion-2 2.2
Thanks

Check to see if any of the pins in the OBD connector of the car are bent or are getting pushed backwards and not engaging when you attach your scanner. Logically, being able to read certain modules but not others probably doesn't make sense, but that's where I would start.
