Question Need help hope it's nothing serious

For starters I am new to using the whole forums community so please bear with me. I have a 2005 Saturn ion 2. Had all the recalls taking care of. I never had a problem with the car since I bought it car has only 132,000 miles on it. Kept up on oil changes, spark plugs, tune ups etc.... I live in Florida went on a little road trip a few hours away like I always do again never having a problem I was driving on the turnpike once again everything was fine I get off the exit to get some gas and as soon as my car started downshifting everything went down hill now my car doesn't go past 2nd gear tried everything.. checked transmission fluid everything was good fluid was in good color long story short had to turn back around please any help is greatly appreciated...from the n00b

Service Engine Soon Light on?

Sounds like it is in "limp" mode

Post us the codes Pxxxx where the x's are numbers

Any other funky indicators on the dash lit up that are usually not?

Probably never hear from that one again, derf. No instant, magic solution could be found here, so they moved on.
