Ion 2005
hello guys hoping someone could help me .
I'm having trouble with my saturn ion 2005 when i turn on the car in the morning and i put it on drive the dash board lights go off and the the break lights also turn completely off i need to change the fuse for the lights to come back on, but the next day or even the same day after changing the fuse the it burns again so i have to be changing fuses constantly, i know there must be a short but not sure where i should start looking.
thank you in advance

well, you really did not say what fuse it was you had to change which might be a clue to something, but the first though that comes to mind to me is something is moving and catching a wire.
What is it, Stepping on the brakes move the pedal and linkage and puttin it in gear moves something that wiggles to change gears with so maybe wires in or around one of thse moving thingys is causing the problems.

does sound like its tied to when you put your foot on the brake pedal before switching gears.
Check to see if this alone creates your issue.
If so you know where to start. If not it will get more complicated. The fact that the dash goes out though leads me to believe you have more than a short in the brake circuit...but we'll get to that
