Default Inner tie rod boot clamps

I recently replaced the inner and outer tie rod ends on an 07 Saturn Ion-2 2.2. The outer part of the boot that holds onto the rod had a small pinch style ring clip but the inner end of the boot where the bigger diameter is has a one time use clamp that breaks or needs to be cut loose. The new tie rod ends didn't come with new boots or clamps, and I didn't have any zip ties, so I just installed the boots without them. They fit pretty snug, but is this OK, or should I try to find some clamps? It's been said that they're hard to find. Are zip ties or anything really necessary?

Thanks

Get some heavy duty zips and secure them. They will walk away if you don't.
