Default 2004 Ion start issue

Good day. New member here. Had no crank trouble. Solenoid clicked but did not lock in to energize the starter. Been messing with it for a couple of days. Battery voltage is/ was good. Finally checked the voltage during crank attempt. It drops significantly. Turns out the battery has voltage but no amps capability. Jumpered with a running car and fired right up. Pooched battery. In my years I spent too may times not looking for the easiest. Please make note and carry on well.
Thanks, Frank.

The joys of electrical diagnostics. I have used both electronic and mechanical battery testers over the years. I still rely on a toaster as the ultimate test.
