03 ION 1 manual no crank no start
Have replaced the ign switch and redone procedure. This previously would solve my issue. It has not fixed it anymore.
Have used multiple different switches and nothing. If the car sits for a while, on the first attempt to start the car, it'll crank for a literal second, and then stop. Nothing after that. Passlock flashes. Have tried relearn multiple different times.
I've read about a fusible link near the battery but I can't locate it. It seems like ION 1 doesn't have it.
I tried jumping relay 31 but stopped because I wasn't sure if it was in the correct orientation.
I've also tried to push start it and it just sputters like if it wants to start but the injectors won't fire.
All grounds are connected. I'm going to try to clean them all up soon, but I don't think it's this. Battery is charged and good to go. Load tests fine.

If they're all snugly fitting in the box, then they're sitting the way they're supposed to. What you're being told is if you want to check one against another one, just swap one with the same number with another one with the same number. If you screw up and pull one without the same number, the blades on it won't fit the socket.
I understand that. I'm asking if the orientation of the relays 3602 and 3604 matter? They will fit in their dedicated slot, and then can be turned 180° and still fit. Does this orientation matter?
I have checked the service manual, and while it shows the location and purpose of each relay, it does not address proper insertion of same.
I just went out and checked in my 2004 Ion 2 (same electrical system as 2003), and can see your dilemma. The two black relays (3602) can only go in one way, as they have five pins, a row of two and a row of three. However, the 3604 gray relays only have four pins, two rows of two pins. All relays in my car have a modified corner, as shown in the picture here. And all corners on the six relays in my car are oriented the same way - toward the upper right in your picture. Your picture shows the lower two relays oriented 180° from what mine are.
I'm not going to swap any of my relays around for testing purposes, as everything is working properly, and has since I got the car four years ago. I recommend you orient the corners of all relays the same. Not saying that is the right way, just my belief that it is.
