Default Rear View Mirror

My rearview mirror (2007 Saturn Aura XE) is not powering on. I don't know if the mirror I got to replace a cracked and discolored one is the correct one. I have a diagnostic procedure for the 2007 Saturn XR mirrors, but I don't believe that it is applicable to my 2007 Saturn XE. The Circuit/System Testing sheet mentions using terminal 9, but the connector I have does not have a wire connected to terminal 9.

My connector has the following pins connected:
8 - black wire (ground)
11 - dark blue (keypad signal)
12 - black and white (keypad supply voltage)
14 - gray (keypad green LED signal)
15 - brown and white (keypad red LED signal)

Can any forum member help me with this issue?

You replaced the mirror and it has never powered on?

Brand and part # of replacement part?
Which OEM original part number?
XE what engine?

The connector which you are describing is on the pigtail attached to the car, correct?

I would think you have the wrong or defective mirror as a replacement. Why not get the correct mirror rather than rewiring this one?

What has been my problem is determining what the correct mirror is. I no longer have the old mirror and, therefore, I do not know what the part number is. The one I have was taken from a 2007 Saturn Aura XE (same as the car that I own), so I thought it would be OK. I need to figure out how to obtain the correct information (i.e., either service information or part number).

My zip code is 41018. I bought the car used, so I cannot tell you exactly which options it has. My car is an Aura XE. It does not have auto dimming headlights. I believe the original mirror (I discarded it because it was cracked discolored) had an OnStar button on it.

http://www.carthageautoparts.com/

I would call these guys. Reasonable prices, close to you. Tell them you found them on Car-part.com. They pay to advertise their inventory.

They have eight listed for about $26 each. I bet you can find one there that will work in your car. They can run your VIN to see which one you need.
