Default *Resolved* I smell gas inside and out

first off, I'm m no mechanic is that is why I am asking this. Now that we have that out of the way, why does my 2008 XR smell like gas all the time. It's especially noticable after driving my car most of the day. Sometimes the smell will find it's way into car through the vents. I can't find any leaks anywhere. I have been told the fuel pump may need to need to be replaced, could that be it? Also my car will struggle (turn over) to start after sitting a while or in the morning, could that be related as well? Has anyone had a similar problem(s)?

I don't know if it's related or not, but I had a 2007 Equinox that had a similar problem. Seems like there was a recall on certain model GM products with defective fuel pumps that they didn't really make public knowledge. Pull up recalls on your vehicle and see if it's listed. After threatening a lawyer, GM paid to have mine replaced at a local Chevy dealer. Go to www.nhtsa.gov and look up your vehicle. You'll need your VIN to be specific.

Did you check the recall list or just let them gouge you? I'm a cheap bastard, so I'd have definitely been looking into it before paying full price.
