Help please Rapid Crank no start
What were the compression readings for each cylinder? Open valves will cause fast cranking and no starts. You need 4 components for an engine to start. Spark (have you checked for a blue/white spark at each plug?), Fuel (is it getting any to each injector?) Air,( is the filter clogged with a critter nest?) and COMPRESSION. We need to know the readings before we can help you any further. If your hubby doesn't remember, see if he'll do it again and WRITE THEM DOWN.
Honestly, we didn't know you were not the tech person doing the work and making the measurements until you just told us. Sorry if we are coming across harshly, we were assuming the person posting was intimately familiar with the details and had mechanical knowledge of this specific vehicle. I'm not saying you don't, I'm saying if you are playing middle person, we just found that out.
A compression test on an engine is a general snapshot of engine health. It does not capture or diagnose specifics, it looks at basic functionality. There is a compression below which you will not get ignition of the air fuel mixture. That's why we need to know the numbers. Honestly, he should know this. Vague answers don't help us help you.
Ships passing in the night sucks. But we still need the detailed information if we are to help you. Please respond with the cylinder numbers and the measured compression. If need be, we will talk you through doing a compression test. It's not very difficult.

Ok sorry I am only relaying what my husband tells me when we get a chance to talk as he works nights and I work mornings. Anyways compression is good he said it has all of a sudden now thrown the code related to the crankshaft position sensor with has been replaced. Checked all the wiring there and all looks to be good and intact also he went ahead and checked the Tim ng by pulling cover off and doing all the proper steps as listed and it was on and where it needed to be. Nothing yet has changed still a rapid crank no start.
