Default Heavy Trunk Lid

Has anyone found a way to keep the trunk lid from coming down on the bumper an wearing the paint off? This has to be one of the heaviest trunk lids I've seen on a modern car. Possibly my hydrolic supports are worn out. My petite wife has difficulty opening it with her has full.

I'm not familiar with Aura trunks, but some lids have adjustable bump-stops to keep the lids from hitting other pieces of the body. Fixing this issue might be an easy adjustment away!

If it has hydraulic struts, then it definitely sounds as though they need to be replaced.

I'm not sure you'll find adjustable bump stops around the trunk opening due to leakage potential past the trunk gasket.

But I've been wrong before. Twice.

Here ya go. If you replace these, your bride should have no problem opening the trunk. Tell her to stand back or it might fly up and hit her in the chin. Mighty Lift/Lift Support E95158 - Read Reviews on Mighty Lift #E95158

My trunk lid is very heavy as well and when I first got the vehicle I did not know but opened it about half way stuck my head in the trunk and POW it hit me right in the noggin lol. Mine does not rip off my paint though do you have the rubber that goes around the trunk and the bumper?

I just ordered new struts, and have some touch up paint to do, so I'll see if I can raise the rubber stoppers. If I remember correctly they're not like hood stops and just need to be turned. On vacation and my memory isn't too good. I'm sure the spoiler adds a few lbs to the weight.
