Default Switched to MT-85

I found a post on draining and replacing the manual transmission/differential fluid as a guest and it was very helpful (many thanks). I used Redline MT-85 and am happy with it. I would encourage all of you to at least take out the "level adjust" plug and clean it off. My fluid had been humming along since 2008, amassing 149,000 miles and the magnet on the end of the level-adjust plug was mountain of metallic dust. I wiped everything I could reach clean, replaced the gasket, used new lock-tight and replaced the plate but even if you only clean the magnet off it's sure to extend the life of your transmission. I apologize for not taking a picture of the plug covered I shavings but it occurred to me only after I finished the project.

Ummm

that's not a good sign in general.
Once they are stuck to the magnet, they are not going anywhere.
Cleaning the magnet will only help you determine, at a later time, by pulling the plug again, if additional metal shavings have been deposited, which again, would not be a good sign.

If it's shifting ok, carry on!
