I am trying to remove my shift **** on my 08 Astra and I cannot find anything on it. Methods for other cars don't work. I can't slide down a plastic piece or remove a w clip or anything like that.

Looks like the shifter and boot come off together at the base of the boot. The shifter **** appears to be something that may slip over the actual functioning mechanism. Can't tell because it is hidden in the drawing on the website above. Looks like it would need to be especially designed for an Astra in order to interchange with the stock setup, so buyer beware.
