my friend is having trouble with her 1996 manual saturn sc1. whenshe gos to accelerate...it pauses and then goes and then whenshe shifts it does the same thing and the engine sounds kind ofodd. like a low hissing, the hissing stops when the pressure is removed from the gas pedal, it just started yesterday while driving up a hill. at first it was only in the hills now it is everywhereshe goes. could the sound system be sucking the power out ofthe car. could that be it?her stereo stysem isa 790 watt amp, 2 1200 watt subs, and a sony explod head unit. im hoping to help her out so please let me know if you might know what is causing this or if you have had this happen with you vehicle.

 

may need a tune up

 

One way to definatly check the amp is to pull the fuse. I doubt thats the problem though.
