Default Tie Rod Ends Replacement

Hey Guys, I finally got around to replacing the tie rod ends on the Coupe today and it was a very easy job. I think I spent more time jacking the car up and removing the wheels than anything else. A 7/8 open end wrench, a pair of pliers an 18 mm socket and ball peen hammer were all the tools I needed. I had those suckers changed out in about ten minutes apiece. I counted the full number of turns that the old ones took to remove and put the same number of turns back on for the install. I found it kind of odd that the driver side only took 7 turns, but the passenger side took 16. Anyone else do this and find that much difference? I'll take it for an alignment next week as there isn't anywhere around here that's open on Saturdays that do alignments. I test drove it and it tracks nice and straight, I just want to make sure. It does have very nice tires on it and I'd like to keep them that way.

Cool. I only got around to doing one of mine when I swapped the trans, I went to do the other but it was frozen (and the rack hanging off the cradle wasnt helping). The one I did replace was pretty easy too.

Yeah, I had put it off for nearly two weeks thinking it was going to be a real pain to do. The old ones must have been the originals. The grease boots were ripped to shreds with just a few little pieces hanging on. Bonus on the new ones is that they have grease fittings. I wonder if they'll last another 293,000 miles. LOL
