Hi. There has been a rattle under the hood of my car and today I took it to the Saturn dealer to get looked at. Just before I took it in I was told by a trusted mechanic that its nothing in the top end.

My question is, is there anything anyone is aware of in the 2001 SC1 model that has been recalled? I'd like to have a better idea of what's wrong before I hear back from Saturn, which will likely be tomorrow (April 24). Until then I will do some serious research. Thanks very much.

 

Well I have learned about 2 recalls. As described here:

Both of these issues seem irrelevant in my opinion. Besides those, are there any other say, common problems or other recalls? Again your help is greatly appreciated.

 

Nothing common that would account for a rattle under the hood. It could be any number of things.

Worn motor mounts, worn tensioner, bad catalytic converter, low on oil, hood rod not secured to the clip, a tool left under the hood, ect...
