rear disc
Why bother (?)
I do believe the braking power distribution in these cars is 80/20 ish....My rear brakes (disc) lasted to about 150k on both my SC2's (95 and 97)
I suppose you could transfer an assembly from a used older donor vehicle, but that's an "at your own (potential) peril" project....especially if you have ABS......

i've done several other rear disc conversions(86 crx,91 escort..and a few others) so the peril is not so great as it seems,i just need to know what "donor" vehicle i need

You are a better brake man than I...
Don't know the answer-- you could check with dealer (parts dept) to see which rear ends are interchangeable....
sorry I cannot help you more....
Ducky? Ott? Sw2cam?
Any ideas?

All you need is the calipers (1991-1998), caliper mounting brackets (1991-1998), new rotors, pads and you'll need e-brake cables. In your situation, you'll need e-brake cables from a 97-98 coupe or 1996-1998 sedan/wagon with rear disc. All parts can be found at your local junkyard pretty cheap. Shouldnt be more than $100. I can usually get everything for around $40 locally. And always use new rotors and pads.
Rear crossmembers are interchangable throughout all the S-Series years. DOHC's have a sway bar, SOHC's dont.

but, if you're doing this and you're not using your car in a manner in which you'll be swapping brake pads/rotors once a year, you'll be wasting your money. it won't stop you any faster. it will simply make it easier to work on when you're changing them...

those are, in my opinion, the only 2 acceptable reasons for this swap...
